Latin America Crusade (Brazil) 2011 Update

Greetings from Santa Lucius city of Brazil. I trust this update finds you growing in what God has created you for. Follow-up to my last year ministry in Latin America, I resumed my two months annual mission work here on July 10, 2011. It is in response to God instruction for my family and I to go beyond arm-chair mission work to the ends of the earth. It initially sounds so ambitious and like William Carey’s initial move, it was greeted with pessimism. As we obeyed God, we saw His hands in action – many souls were won including very hardened drug addict and five persons at the verge of committing suicides. Homes were restored and many were healed of various kinds of diseases. Thank you so much for making the ministry here possible through your trust, prayers and moral support.
Our work here this year started in Brasilia, the administrative capital of Brazil. God took over the meeting there and did awesome things. From Brasilia, I moved to Muriae city where Jesus wiped many tears. Five persons accepted Christ, very many persons were healed. Earlier, one of my colleagues in the frontline, Rev. Stuart was drugged in the public bus when he accepted juice from a Brazilian and all his possessions including Ipad, credit cards, money, camera, laptops, etc. were carted away. The effect of the drug was so severe that he had to lie down to preach on the day he was scheduled to preach. Thank God he is getting over it. I learnt my lesson to be more careful with the guys up here.
Two nights ago, I moved to Santa Lucius. The reception was unparallel. The hunger for God was vividly visible. The response to the gospel was extremely encouraging. I am travelling the next 20hours to the region noted as the most notorious in occultism ~ Bahai. That was where I started my ministry assignment last year and we witnessed incredible cases of salvation and miracles. I will be arriving Jequie tomorrow and will start ministry there almost immediately.
After my Bahia ministry comes the Amazon jungle. Some other part of the Amazon requires three days by ship and 20hours by speed boat. I am glad I will be making my own input at Altamira. It is only accessible by air. The airfare is very expensive, approximately $800 for return ticket. Yet, Jesus died for them also. The gospel must be preached in the Amazon!
Some of the other places I will be preaching in both indoor and outdoor crusades includes Santana, Caruaru, Alagoinhas, Trancoso, Carpina, etc. Brazil alone has over 5000 cities. Through your prayers, I hope to cover at least 48 cities and villages in two months. May God of heaven reward you for joining hands with me to take the gospel to this part of the ends of the earth.

Let Us Go To Other Towns Also

38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. 39 And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils. (Mark 1:38-39)

Patterning our lives and ministry after Jesus has never been this fulfilling. Once, in Matthew 4:13 Jesus left Nazareth and dwelt in the dark jungle of Capernaum so that the great light prophesied in Isaiah might be their portion. Here in Mark 1:38-39, we see Jesus moving from one city to the other. Following the steps of the Master has been our major thrust. We try to do what He did. We leave our comfort zone (Nazareth) and station ourselves in d dark jungles of Africa. Here we are again, reaching out to cities.

The past six weeks have witness great outpouring of grace. Work in the North of Brazil witnessed many turning to the Lord. From the North, I entered the Amazon jungle. His presence was there again to cheer me up. Scores of people embraced Christ and several sick persons were healed and oppressed delivered. The Crusade took me to the Middle belt of Brazil. Same testimonies trailed the work. One of those saved was a hardened heroin addict. The drug had made his mind went blank, making him to forget his wife and Children. At Araras, Five persons who were at the point of committing suicide were delivered. I had opportunity to address the political leaders including the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillors, etc. on the need to fear God, embrace His son Jesus as saviour and tap into His unchanging grace and wisdom. I spoke to top business men of the city on the keys to lasting breakthrough in life and business. I had several missions awareness campaigns. Preached on radio and Televisions. The welcome was overwhelming.

Now, like our Master I have moved yet to other cities ~ Maringa, Presidente Prudente and Nova Adradina. The ministry assignments went well. More persons embraced Jesus as saviour on daily basis. To Him alone be the glory.

I am in the last lap of my ministry in Brazil for this year ~ moving towards the boarder of Uruguay. A friend once used the word globe trotting but my fulfillment is I see souls save across the globe. It is enough for a disciple to be like His Master.
Pray along as I preach in Rio Brilhante today, Douradros tomorrow, Rio Vende on September 5, 2010. After that I fly to Nova Esperanca and speak on September 8 and then Paraiso Norte on September 9. Others include Cruz Alta, Pelotas, Porto Alegre then fly back to Sao Paulo and finally to Nigeria.

I covet prayers for both physical and spiritual strenght. Covering these cities is the least we can do to follow the steps of our Master:
38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. 39 And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils. (Mark 1:38-39)
